GraphX Service (GXS) was started in March 2007 by Matt Turco under the name NBR Graphics. NBR refers to NotebookReview, a laptop review and information site. The organization was started on NotebookReview's forum and eventually moved to nbr-graphics.com. Since then, two other graphic designers, Jon-Michael Noe and Sam Lau, have been helping manage the site.

All of the current GraphX Team (GXT) members are students, whether in high school or college, who enjoy doing graphic design. For this reason, we do graphic design for no charge. We also do not require a watermark, or any sort of recognition, though we do appreciate it. Doing graphic design helps us improve our skill level and gives us the experience we may need later down the road.
